A Fire Pit Fairy Garden ~ Two Versions, Choose Your Favorite!
My dear friend recently asked if I wanted this rusted-out fire pit for a project of some sort. “Knowing you, you’ll make something cute out of it!” she said. And so I did. But, there was a slight problem. I had two ideas and couldn’t decide which one I liked better! My solution was to plant a tiny garden of Dianthus, Lithodora and English Daisies, make a pond using half a coconut shell and then try out both versions!
The first version uses a little decorative ceramic tea light holder for the house, white wire accessories and little girl fairies. This is definitely a girly pink fairy garden complete with a picket fence and lavender polka-dotted toadstool.
A more down-to-earth version incorporated a rustic wooden birdhouse as the fairy home. Two little boy pixies inhabit this garden along with their metal gardening tools, a wheelbarrow and a pet squirrel. The coconut shell has now become a fishing pond .
Two versions were created in the same container, made different by switching out the accessories. Which one is your favorite? Take a good look at both and let me know!
Or, do you prefer version # 2 with the rustic birdhouse? This fairy garden used the same plantings but switched out the houses and accessories. Now we have little boy pixies, garden tools, a little wheelbarrow. The coconut shell has become a fishing pond!
Now it’s time to decide; Which fairy garden version do you like the best?
