Shade loving

Here are some ideas of tried and true plant combinations for dappled shade situations. (Lots of morning and/or afternoon light, at least 4 hours, but no strong sun.)

Hosta & Hydrangea in part shade


 

 

Coral Bells, Impatiens, Hakone Grass and Lady Fern

Caladium & Impatiens

Astilbe, Bleeding Heart and Hydrangea

Hostas, Hydrangea “Nikko Blue”, Variegated Japanese Knotweed,

Columbine and Dicentra “Gold Heart”

Dicentra “Gold Heart”, Columbine, Hostas, Lilac “Little Kim”, Kerria and yellow Butterfly Bush
