Make a Sussy (A small gift, given for no particular occasion other than love and friendship, usually not wrapped )
Do you save extra toiletries from your travels and wonder what to do with them? Create a little “Sussy” (definition : A small gift, given for no particular occasion other than love and friendship, usually not wrapped). What a nice way to lift a friend or neighbor’s spirits spending a little time and not a lot of money.
For these spa dishes, perfect for a guest bath or powder room, I used two hand crocheted washcloths, some hotel soaps, shampoos, lotions, conditioners and a fancy purchased soap. Gold-rimmed white bowls found on clearance at a favorite shop were perfect for holding everything and can serve as a fancy soap dish, too!
You can find tons of crocheted and knitted wash cloth patterns and instructions on Pinterest as well as You-Tube for every skill level. If you don’t crochet or knit, look on Etsy and buy a few pretty ones.
I used baker’s twine and a pretty, recycled ribbon to dress my “Sussies” up a bit. The ties also help keep the toiletries in place! And, no need for further wrapping ~ they look pretty just as they are, don’t you think?
So, save those tiny toiletries and random dishes that don’t complete a set and turn them into “Sussies”. Use them as small gifts for your friends, co-workers, your childrens’ teachers or as a house gift when you are invited over to a dinner or party. Make other variations with crocheted or knitted dish cloths for the kitchen, too!
I love your sussies! I think that word may just go viral! xoxox
The sussies were fun to make and, thanks to you, that word is going to be better known now!!
I love them!
So glad you do! I had fun putting them together, too!
