After warning arriving guests that the garden was at the end of the season and there wasn’t much to see, I was shocked how much color and bloom were still showing! Thanks to flowering shrubs, some late-blooming perennials and annuals that don’t quit until frost, there is color in our mid-September garden. Not as much as the gay profusion of summer, but a more quiet transition into the cooling days of Fall. So, pull up your coffee cup and take that early fall garden walk with me.
