Fall Outdoor Decor ~ Our Fairfield Home and Garden
Fall has come with crisp, cool mornings, lingering fog and trees bursting into vibrant colors. Time again to celebrate the harvest and prelude to winter with seasonal outdoor decorating.
First, windowboxes are created that can carry the season through Thanksgiving. A bushel basket base stuffed with hay, mums and pumpkins is surrounded by ornamental kale, dried corn, fennel seedheads and hydrangeas.
Planters flanking the garage doors are layered in hay, gourds, pumpkins, dried corn and some cheerful Halloween touches. These can be easily switched out for Thanksgiving with corn stalks and themed accents.
Halloween isn’t far away and Lighted Jack O’Lanterns on an old beat-up ladder will beckon the Trick-Or-Treaters. We love sitting out on the front porch swing handing out sweets and admiring costumes.
Even the Bike Planter is sporting a smiley pumpkin, kale, mums and gourds. Yellow ribbon streamers hang from the handlebars, gently rippled by the breeze.
Fall is officially here, the garden slowly winding down. It’s time to get cozy.
