Gardening Inspiration ~ Karin’s Garden
As a gardener myself, I love to see the gardens of others as I appreciate the planning and effort that they require. I am lucky enough to have a wonderful neighbor and friend, just down the street, whose garden is a treat to see every day. Karin has artfully set up flowerbeds lining her driveway and by her home that mix a wide array of perennial shrubs and flowers as well as annuals. There is always something in bloom from spring until frost, and her color scheme of pinks, purples, blues and yellows is a delight to the eye. Although the blooms co-mingle with abandon, there is precision in their placement, and Karin has planned carefully for your eye to travel up and across her property. Right by the corner, I have often noticed walkers admiring her lovely garden and cars slowing to take in the scene.
Karin and I tease one another about needing a twelve-step program for our gardening addiction. But, I have to tell you, it is such fun to have another enthusiastic gardener close by to discuss and tour gardens with. We both garden sun-rise to sun-down when we can and love being outdoors. Our efforts in our yards seem to have started a “greening” of the neighborhood, and many of our neighbors are planting more in their own spaces.
Karin’s vision in her garden has evolved over the last three years and is now one of the highlights of our neighborhood. Please take a mini-tour of Karin’s garden and see close-ups of some of her beautiful plant choices in the following pictures.
Her garden is absolutely a gardeners paradise… I see why you gave her some recognition.. Having a neighborhood filled with beautiful landscape is so wonderful . Thanks for sharing Karin’s yard
It is such a pleasure to have another gardening “nut” right on the same street, Jamala! So glad you took the time to check Karin’s amazing garden out!
I love the shrubs and floers along the driveway. Many people hide their gardens in the back yard.
Karin’s garden just draws you in and is a delight to visit, Carlene! And the best is out front for all to see and share!
Beautiful! Can just imagine the butterflies…
Karin’s Garden is just full of butterflies and bees all happily checking out her sumptuous flower buffet, Cathy!
Wow, what a lovely garden! Such gorgeous photos to really show off some of her plant choices & design. I usually only see it in the winter, so this was a real treat!
p.s. Good job, Mom! :)
Thanks, Heidi ~ your mom is an excellent gardener!
This is spectacular! All of the wonderful varieties of flowers and bushes so poetically placed together! I wish I could make my yard look 1/4 this good! Hugs, Leena
Thanks for commenting, Leena! Karin has worked absolute wonders in the choice and placement of her plantings, hasn’t she ?
