A Michaels & HomeTalk Pinterest Party ~ come be my guest!
Join me for a HomeTalk & Michaels Pinterest Party this Sunday, February 16th, at the Brandywine Town Center Michaels store in Wilmington, Delaware! I was thrilled when HomeTalk asked if I would like to choose a Pinterest-inspired craft and demonstrate it at our local Michaels. You bet I would! All the Michaels stores across the country will be sporting special Pinterest craft displays, and 100 stores will have a HomeTalk representative (like me!) on hand to help you create your own pin-worthy craft. Come out from 1pm to 4pm and meet some of your favorite bloggers as they get crafty using Michaels materials while wearing their HomeTalk craft aprons! Click on the red Pinterest “P”below to see the locations by state that will have a HomeTalk representative on hand.
Each representative was given five projects to choose from and encouraged to put his or her own special twist on their selection. Of course, the birdcage centerpiece grabbed my eye! Off to Michaels I went to meet a very friendly and helpful store manager. Supply list in hand, I found most everything I needed, and more, except for the wooden candle base – a key element in the design! They were just plain sold out! Time to improvise, so I decided to use clay flower pots to create a base instead. And they worked just great! Check them out in the tutorials below!
It was so much fun making the first birdcage centerpiece. I made another that was even easier! For this project, you need a 5 and 1/4 inch clay bell pot, a metal birdcage, one piece of dry floral foam, hot glue, Spanish moss, silk ivy pieces, a bird’s nest and ribbon. Follow the easy directions below and decorate to your heart’s desire! The possibilities are endless!
It gets even better! If you click on the hometalk.com box below and follow Michaels, you will be entered to win a $100 Michaels gift card. Five winners will be announced on Hometalk’s FaceBook page on February 17, after the party.
You can also use Michaels weekly coupons to save money and do more projects! So, what are you waiting for? Get yourself to Michaels this weekend!
