Patriotic Party Time & a wonderful give-a-way!
It’s Patriotic Party Time and I am excited to have Serenity Health & Home Décor sponsoring this post about creating that great outdoor picnic gathering for your family and friends. Don’t forget to enter the give-a-way at the end of this post! Memorial Day and Fourth of July entertaining can be less work if you plan outside picnic barbecues combining food stations and pot-luck style. Make the main course, such as Mrs. Gordy’s BBQ-ed Chicken and my grandma’s Potato Salad serve as your meal foundation, and have guests add their special side dishes, salads and desserts. Spend a little time coordinating who will bring what and less time in the kitchen! You don’t have to go broke making a themed party! Make your barbecue an event by mixing and matching red, white and blue plates, napkins and table accents. Since they are primary colors, it is easy to find inexpensive paper goods for a speedy clean-up. That way you only need a few specialty plates or napkins with flags or stars. Red carnations and white baby’s breath in blue Mason jars set the mood with easy centerpieces. Tie utensil sets up with twine and pretty white paper doilies. Cover your picnic table with a blue and white striped twin flat sheet that will wash nicely after the party. * Click on the picture below for decorating tips and tried and true barbecue recipes!
There’s nothing like an outdoor picnic for minimum fuss and maximum fun. Toast marshmallows, hot dogs and sing around the campfire to have a great time and make happy memories! Hot dogs with all the fixings are always a popular campfire treat. Prepare a tray with hot dogs, buns and dishes of condiments for everyone to create their own gourmet dog! Make a s’mores station for a fun hands-on dessert. Load it with lots of variations of candy bars, marshmallows, cookies and graham crackers as well as mini-chocolate chips, chopped nuts, sprinkles and fruits (raspberries, strawberries and sliced bananas). No need to travel, you can make your own outdoor retreat right in your backyard! * Click the picture below to see ours!
Don’t forget to get your Red, White and Blue on! A few small American flags, red and white checked fabric, stars and colorful flowers will put your whole place in the patriotic party mood!
