Gardening Inspiration ~ Karin’s Garden

As a gardener myself, I love to see the gardens of others as I appreciate the planning and effort that they require. I am lucky enough to have a wonderful neighbor and friend, just down the street, whose garden is a treat to see every day. Karin has artfully set up flowerbeds lining her driveway and by her home that mix a wide array of perennial shrubs and flowers as well as annuals. There is always something in bloom from spring until frost, and her color scheme of pinks, purples, blues and yellows is a delight to the eye. Although the blooms co-mingle with abandon, there is precision in their placement, and Karin has planned carefully for your eye to travel up and across her property. Right by the corner, I have often noticed walkers admiring her lovely garden and cars slowing to take in the scene.

Karin and I tease one another about needing a twelve-step program for our gardening addiction. But, I have to tell you, it is such fun to have another enthusiastic gardener close by to discuss and tour gardens with. We both garden sun-rise to sun-down when we can and love being outdoors. Our efforts in our yards seem to have started a “greening” of the neighborhood, and many of our neighbors are planting more in their own spaces.

Karin’s vision in her garden has evolved over the last three years and is now one of the highlights of our neighborhood. Please take a mini-tour of Karin’s garden and see close-ups of some of her beautiful plant choices in the following pictures.
